Xunzi is the
most important work of the Confucian school in the late Warring States Period.
There are a total of 32 books in the book, which are the words that the blind
and disciples sort out or record the words and deeds of others. There are
thirty-two articles in this place. Except for a few chapters, most of them are
written by Xunzi. The book aims to summarize the contending and academic ideas
of the academic circles at that time, reflecting the ethical, political, and
economic ideas of materialistic views of nature, epistemology, and
embarrassment. His articles are good at reasoning, well-organized, analytical
and thorough, and good at taking advantage of them. They often use the sentence
to enhance the momentum of discussion, language refinement, and have strong
persuasiveness and appeal.
Xunzi (about 313 BC - 238 BC), was a famous
thinker, writer, and politician of the end of the Warring States Period. Xunzi
respected Confucius's thoughts and lived with Confucius' heirs, with particular
emphasis on Confucius' "foreign king studies." In addition, he had
developed Confucianism and advocated the evil theory. He was often compared
with Mencius's theory of goodness and had a considerable contribution to the
reorganization of Confucian classics. From the standpoint of epistemology, he
summed up and absorbed the theoretical claims of the philosophers, and formed a
characteristic view of the nature of "the distinction between heaven and
man", the morality of "chemical pseudo-pseudo", and "ceremonies."
On the basis of the social history view of the rule of governance, the pre-Qin
philosophy was summarized.
